Labour want Boycott knighthood revoked

I was listening to radio 4 this morning and the woman presenter who got Geoffrey Boycott onto her show and congratulated him quite coldly on getting the honour before questioning him strongly about a domestic assault issue against his wife that happened 25 years ago in France in a very arrogant and disrespectful way, as if that is all the man has ever done, he denied the assault taking place but who will believe him?.
Why does someone who gets a knighthood have to be perfect ? there must be many men who have become knights of the realm who abused their wives in some way I am not saying that is correct it is not and in this day and age it is understandably looked upon in disgust and rightly so, but were things not different back in Boycotts day? men were brought up differently back then and life was much more about men being the king of the house, just watch old movies or television programmes and how women were treated, can anyone watch a carry on film or even on the buses and think that even in comedy treating women that way was correct????.
PC is a positive thing but some times it takes the piss and in my opinion they get it wrong, and I agree with the forthright Geoffrey when he told that woman this morning that he did not give a toss what campaigners against violence against women thought about him getting the honour, in fact it made me laugh out loud.
I am not making light of this issue I just think that some of these feminists and establishments will not be happy until every man in the world has mentally removed their balls and act accordingly.

It was his girlfriend and it was in 1998 and he was convicted of repeatedly punching her.
Not sure that was acceptable 21 years ago and obviously any man that punches a woman is a lowlife.

This is one of Theresa May’s honours which seems a strange tradition when someone is sacked for being shit and she has given awards to her heroes (ie Boycott) and a bunch of mates. Strange system

I’m sure if you dug into the past of many that get awards you could find flaws.
Which is why I imagine why he has never received awards other than this one which is at the whim of one person rather than going through some vetting.
He was a good player though an extraordinarily selfish one and he is entertaining (if not always deliberately) on the radio.

I don't know if he hit her or not, but bear in mind that Boycott had no nor has, any history of bird battering. And it's on record that she tried extorting a large amount of cash from him through blackmail.
It's not quite as cut and dried as the snivelling socialists would have you gullible types believe.

He was found guilty in a court of law in a western European country. It wasn't some show trial in North Korea.

Whether he should be denied a gong or not is one question, but you saying "who will believe him?" in that context implies he's not not guilty. He's not a martyr to PC world, he's a ####, the woman being piece of ####

I wasn't there mate and I don't know who was counting but the fact he was convicted and no new evidence has come to light you can only run with what happened.
To be fair it probably hasn't done him any favours like i say forgive and forget but now it's all been dredged up again
